Fil Houston

Fil Houston stands for techno and hardtechno with physical presence. Moving between 140 and 155 BPM, his sound operates in the tension between raw, driving and hypnotic — carried by heavy kick drums, mechanical 4/4 structures and dense textures that evoke the aesthetic of bare industrial halls. Rather than relying on effect-driven breaks, he builds on hypnotic pull and uncompromising forward motion. The goal: tunnel vision. Whether at Berlin's M-Bia or as a fixture in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region — from established clubs like Disco Zwei to subcultural free spaces like Polychrome — his sets are defined by precise mixing and dramaturgical build. His heart stays underground. As co-founder and chairman of Sequenz e.V., a non-profit association for underground techno, he organizes raves deliberately outside established club structures. The aim: to make this form of techno accessible to those who live it. At Sequenz, atmosphere is conceived as a total work of art — sound, light, fog and consistent rules like a strict no-photo policy interlock to create space for collective hypnotic ecstasy.
